Speaker Bio

Shamik Basu is the Vice President of Strategic Connectivity at Verizon, where he spearheads the growth strategy for global IoT connectivity, value-added services, and the ThingSpace platform, evolving Verizon's platforms to connect millions of IoT endpoints, including the next generation of smart objects with 5G. He has successfully collaborated with customers, incubators, and developers to pioneer IoT applications, analytics, and cloud solutions.


Previously, Basu served as Director of Cloud and Location Products at Verizon Wireless, where he oversaw the launch and roadmaps for a multi-million-dollar consumer app portfolio. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science and Finance from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and has multiple patents in wireless, media management, and contact synchronization.


He is also a member of CTA's Wearable Technologies and IoT Working Groups.
