Speaker Bio
Mitch Rappard leads a team focusing on enabling, testing and documenting security solutions for mobile networks. Throughout his career he has gained a deep understanding of how mobile networks function by participating in 3G, 4G and now 5G, design and deployments. Leveraging his cyber security knowledge along with his experience in the wireless space, he partners with operators, integrators and enterprises to deploy cybersecurity solutions for their networks and the networks they manage.
Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks he founded a VoIP company based on his thesis at Carnegie Mellon University, which he later sold to dynamicsoft Inc. From there he went on to work at Starent Networks, Cisco Systems, and Ruckus Wireless. He holds a handful of patents related to mobile network security, with a few more on the way. He enjoys writing frequent blogs on Mobile Security, and from time to time can also be found writing unsuccessful mobile applications on the side.
