With over 15 years of experience at the forefront of violence prevention, technology development, and digital safety, Serena Tommasino is a passionate advocate for child-centered, inclusive, and safe technology to empower the next generations and secure the best outcomes for children and youth in an increasingly connected world.


Her expertise spans advocacy, policy, programs, and partnerships, with experience across the United Nations, European Union, civil society, and academia in Eastern Africa, the USA, the UK, South Asia, and North Africa. She holds an MA with Distinction in Sociology and a Research Fellowship in Culture & Technology from the University of Toronto.


As a strategic advisor, Serena provides technical guidance for Safe Online, a $100 million global investment initiative dedicated to tackling digital threats and creating trusted and age-appropriate digital spaces for children worldwide. She focuses on scalable, innovative solutions, working at the intersection of connectivity, policy, and digital rights to develop strategies that integrate cutting-edge technology with evidence-based approaches to collectively create safe digital futures for children.
