Speaker Bio

Dr. Chung is the Head of Technology & Strategy in the Group CTO Office at PCCW-HKT Group, where he leads the organization's technology roadmap and strategic development. He also serves as a board member of Lynx Analytics, representing the group.


 


In 2019, Dr. Chung co-founded DrGo, Hong Kong's pioneering end-to-end telemedicine platform. The service was launched within three months, overcoming technical, business, and regulatory challenges. DrGo connects users with Hong Kong-registered doctors for video consultations, with prescribed medicine delivered directly to patients' homes. This innovation was particularly impactful during the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak, providing timely medical assistance to thousands of patients amid constrained healthcare resources.


 


Before joining HKT/PCCW, Chung contributed to the Big Data/AI strategy at Telstra, as well as its international growth strategy. Prior to his time at Telstra, Chung was an Associate Partner at Cluster Technology Limited, which provides professional services and solutions in high-performance computing, machine learning, big data, and public cloud to the Greater China market. In 2008, Chung joined McKinsey & Company in the Hong Kong office. He holds a DPhil in Information Engineering from the University of Oxford and was a recipient of the Croucher Foundation Scholarship for his research in wireless ad-hoc networks. Chung also holds a BEng and MPhil in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
