Jens Buysse is a seasoned telecommunications expert with a strong background in networking, private 5G, and cutting-edge communication technologies. As Research Manager at Citymesh, he is key in advancing private 4G/5G networks, focusing on solutions that enhance connectivity for industries, emergency services, and large-scale deployments.
With a PhD in Telecommunications from Ghent University, Jens has built his career around designing and optimizing next-generation networks. His research in optical grids and cloud infrastructures laid the groundwork for his expertise in network architecture, spectrum management, and resilient connectivity solutions.
Throughout his career, Jens has driven innovation within the telecommunications sector. At Citymesh, he has contributed significantly to projects like BOLSTER, a specialized network designed to ensure critical communications during emergencies, and 5GENIUS, a robust private mobile network solution for the University College in Ghent. His work in private 5G networks has also positioned him as a thought leader, regularly speaking at industry events about the advantages of dedicated wireless networks for businesses, events, and public safety applications.
